L <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING STORM SEWER FRESIBILITY REPORT <br />FOR STORM WATER IN THE HIGHWOOD/NOR`1'H SHORE DRIVE AREA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has received a petition from <br />seven Highwood Road area residents requesting the City to review <br />a storm water ponding problem, and <br />WHEREAS, the City staff has reviewed the petition and <br />has determined that further stud; of the area is necessary to <br />determine the extent of the storm water problem, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the information <br />presented to them and received comments from the affected <br />property owners, and <br />WHEREAS, the Orono City COUI-cil feels that more <br />information is needed to determine the extent of an existing <br />storm water ponding problem and if the existing storm sewer <br />system is inadequate, and <br />WHEREAS, the most efficient me-ner in which to obtain <br />this information is to perform a feasihil'_ty study, which will <br />determine the extent of the problem, ;.i one exists, number of <br />acres included in the drainage area and ?.e most efficient and <br />cost effective manner in which to proc(:c.: if it is determined to <br />be a significant problem involving City e`_ )rono action. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEI..Ir }.at the City Council of <br />the City of Orono that the City Engine or b-E instructed to study <br />and report to the Council with all conver.-.t•.,t speed, advising the <br />Council in a preliminary way as to the fe&,;,ibility and estimated <br />costs to benefitted properties in the ut.cii water run-off area. <br />Adopted by the City Council t e City of Orono this <br />14th day of September, 1987. <br />James f:.--;c�_,_i --Yiyor- <br />ATTEST: <br />Dorothy M.
