MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 24, 1987 <br />MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT APPOINTMENTS <br />City Administrator Bernhardson noted the vacancies on <br />the Minnehaha Watershed District along with a letter <br />from the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District with <br />three individuals named that would like to fill the <br />vacancies. <br />City Attorney Blatz explained the reasons for the the <br />two vacancies. <br />Mayor Grabek suggested that the Executive Director of <br />the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District, currently <br />Frank Mixa, serve as the LMCD represenative on *',e <br />Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. No formal action <br />was taken. <br />PUBLIC INFOf(MATION - EVALUATION <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the issue of <br />determineing whether the City of Orono will continu, <br />with the "Mayor's Article' on a monthly basis or buds <br />for a different format for its monthly "newsletter" to <br />the community. He felt that the current format has <br />.proven r be a timely means in most cases of the primary <br />informe to the community. <br />Counci.L thanked the Weekly News and Pioneer <br />representatives in attendance for their assistance in <br />this matter. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Sime, seconded by Mayor <br />Grabek, that the "Mayor's Article" format for <br />communication of inforamtion to the community be <br />continued in the weekly newspaper, soliciting ideas from <br />Councilmembers and the public as to topics they would <br />like to have addressed and the system be evaluated next <br />August in the budget meeting. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />HIGHWOOD STORM SEWER REQ,EST <br />Council tahlcd this matter until the Highwood residents <br />could be notified to attend -the Council meeting to <br />discuss �.,is issue. <br />1950 SHORELINE - SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT* <br />It was moped by Councilmemb-r Sime, seconded by <br />Councilw.:mber Goetten, to tabl his matter until the <br />Septer' 14, 1987 Council meeting. Motion, Ayes 4, <br />Nay <br />BID AWARD - FAIRWAY MOWS_ <br />It was moved by Councilm-mber Szme, seconded by <br />Coun^ilmember Goetten, to award the b d to Kromer Co. <br />for Alternate Bid #2 for one used Long Tractor with <br />Roseman Hydrogang Model 445 Fairway Mower for an amount <br />not to exceed $14,794.00. Motion, Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />12 <br />
