J5- <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF T4E CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />1936 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIFAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.55, SUBDIVISION 8 <br />AND SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISIONS 1 and 2 <br />FILE #1006 <br />WHEREAS, Dale & Chris Palm (hereinafter "the applicants") are the <br />owners of the property located at 1710 Shadywood Road within the City of <br />Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />That part of Lot 11 lying Southerly of the following described line: <br />Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Ncrth 14 feet of said Lot; <br />thence South 87 degrees 27 minutes East to the shore of Crystal Bay <br />Lake Minnetonka; and that part of Lot 12, lying Northerly of a line <br />drawn parallel with and distant 71.2 feet Northerly, measured at right <br />angles from the Southerly line of Lot 13, all in Shadywood, an <br />addition to the County of Hennepin in the Township of Orono. <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a variance <br />to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.55, Subdivision 8 and Section 10.22, <br />Subdivisions 1 and 2 to permit the construction of an addition and attaches <br />garage which will constitute add.'',ional structure and excessive hardcover <br />in the 0-75 lakeshore setback zone where structures and hardcover are not <br />normally allowed, a.d which will increase hardcover in the 75-250 <br />lakeshore setback zone to more than the 25% normally allowed. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Or <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1006. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-lC Single Fami, akeshore <br />Residential Tuning District. <br />3, The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on <br />February 18, 1986, and recommended approval of the proposed variances <br />based upon the following findings: <br />A) The property is 16,040 square feet in ar a or 0.39 <br />acres, has an average width of approximately 90 feet, and <br />contains an existing house which extends approximately 20 <br />feet into the 75' lakeshore setback zone, and conta._.'^ on <br />existing detached garage and concrete apron which encroach <br />into the minimum required side and street setbacks. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
