This pay line Le broken clown into several classes <br />and the anticipated pay scheme wiI11 have both minimum and <br />maximum for personel who are performed satisfactorly in the job <br />from start through approximately three years of experience. At <br />this point it is felt that they will be fully experienced in the <br />job and should be receiving maximum pay for satisfactory <br />performance. As an added component the Administrator is <br />currently working on a pay for performance supplement system <br />which will result in a person receiving an annual one time <br />compensation benefit based on the performance of the overall <br />organization, the department and they as individuals. This plan <br />will be presented in conjunction with the '87 proposed <br />adjustments. The teak link in the whole study now is the results <br />of the market data for total compensation based on CDC system <br />comparables for public and private markets which is anticipated <br />to be refined within the next two to three years. It is <br />anticipated that Orono's compensation system will be refined <br />during that period of time. It additionally should be noted that <br />the comparable worth exercise is not a one time activity, but is <br />an ongoing activity for reevaluating jobs as tasks and duties <br />within the job are altered. This portion is being handled <br />through the City's evaluation system. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended at the November 24th Council <br />nee tin9 that Councilmembers review the information and their <br />pr,)pose,l ^hanges ant] address any questions they have and the <br />staff will bring these back for approval at the December 8, 1986 <br />meeting. Should additional data be available additional <br />recommendations may be forth coming at that meeting. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , to accept the <br />information on comparable wor m and recommendations for proposed <br />changes and that these he brought to the December 8, 1986 meeting <br />for implementation.
