72887.5 <br />TO: All Department Meads <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />DATE: February 12, 1938 <br />SUBJECT: Benefits Proration - Part Time Regular P'�rconnel <br />As you are aware Section 304 o. he Personnel Rules entitles <br />part-time regular employees who work in excess of half time to <br />prorated benefits if so approved by the City Administrator. <br />Positions which are considered to be part-time or full-time <br />seasonal, part-time or full-time temporary, or part-time regular <br />with working ' -)urs of less than 20 hours tier ;eeek, are <br />specifically excluded fro;n ail employment benefits covered in <br />Section 304. <br />The following represent the guideli .( : for accrual and usc:. <br />BENEFITS _ _BENCHMARK DATE - The v,--.tion accrued rate and severance <br />wi 11 be dependent on the nun of years a person has been <br />earning benefits. The date ther(:ore for determining such shall. <br />be the date they initially began earning beneifts on a prorata <br />basis. ;Any subsequent period that they do not qualify for <br />benefits shall be subtractrzd from their time for earnings <br />purpose!. <br />QUALTFICATION - In January and July of e.zck . ear " it lowi ng the <br />initial earnings rates a review of the p., evic six months <br />erage hours (including sick leave, holiday and v-.,at'^r hours) <br />will bp conaucted.
