for part-time employees who are working for the City on a regular <br />on -going basis (not including temporary or seasonal part-timers), <br />as noted in Section 304. This had been handled on An informal <br />basis by the retired Assistant Finance Director and it was <br />realized by current staff tnat a better means would more <br />accurately reflect benefits in relationship to hours worked which <br />should be the foundation for such benefits. As a result of that <br />review Attachment C was developed to "take the guess work" out of <br />the system. This system will be automatically effective for any <br />new part-time regular employees hired :after the 1st of January <br />1988. Provision is made for those hied prior such that when the <br />number of hours that they may be working would dictate a <br />percentage of benefit above what they are receiving in any <br />catagory, they would then get that and from there on be treated <br />as employees hired after January 1S88. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />Issue 1. A. Adopt as presented <br />B. Amend and adopt <br />Major areas include - <br />General internal/external framework <br />Salary determination rules <br />Phase in rules <br />Annual adjustments <br />Movement through the exptected performance range <br />Salary determination and employment <br />C. Table for further information until, at least, <br />March 28th <br />D. Reject the proposal <br />Issue 2. A. Adopt as presented <br />B. Table pending adoption of Issue 1 <br />C. Amend and adopt <br />Particular adjustments <br />Retro activity <br />D. Reject <br />Issue 3. Part -Time Proration <br />A. Adopt <br />B.
