Between the City owned space, <br />that amounts to about 7 1/2 acres of dry land and <br />the Carpenter property approximately another 12 <br />acres, the City would have the 10 to 15 acres for <br />its own needs together with allowing some expansion <br />either of its facility and/or addition of other <br />entities/agencies onto the site together with sale <br />of existing City property to recoup some of the <br />cost. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />Issue 1. <br />1. Accept the space information subject to revisions as <br />the process continues. <br />2. Acceptance including expansion needs or inclusion of <br />10 yei.r expected expansion in the plans. <br />3. Amend and accept. <br />4. Table for further information and/or discussion. <br />Issue 2. Alternatives <br />1. Study alternatives. <br />2. Select one of three alternatives for further study. <br />3. Table for further information and discussion. <br />RECOMMENDATION - <br />Issue 1. Review of Draft Space Needs - It is recommended that the <br />City accept the space study as presented with any <br />comments Council may have for future consideration as <br />the process goes along. <br />Issue 2. Site Study - It is recommended that the City explore <br />sites Alternatives 2 and 3 as Alternative 1 does not <br />appear to be feasible from a space needs standpoint. <br />Exploration of each alternative is $4,.i00.00. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , that the City <br />Council accept the space study -as presented by the consultant and <br />that it undertake studies of Alternatives 2 and 3 related to the <br />facilities and accept preliminary cost information based on <br />present and expected expansion needs over the next 10 years. <br />Ayes , Nays <br />cc: David Kroos, Boarman & Associates <br />z <br />
