Shoreline 'Alterations : <br /> aa)"Na tural vegetation in shoreland areas shall <br /> be preserved insofar as practical and r�asonable <br /> in order to retard surface runoff and soil erosion, <br /> . and to utilize excess nutrients . The removal of <br /> natural vegetation shall be controlled by the <br /> municipal shoreland ordinance. <br /> (ii) Natural vegetation shall be restored insofar <br /> as feasible after any construction proj ect. �� . <br /> bb) "Grading and filling in shoreland areas or any <br /> ' other substantial al�eration of the natural <br /> topography shall be controlled by the municipal <br /> shoreland ordinance. " <br /> cc) "Alteration of Beds and Public Waters : <br /> � . (i) Any work which will change or diminish the <br /> course, current, or cross section of a public <br /> water shall be approved by the �ommissioner <br /> before the work is begun. This includes � <br /> construction of channels and ditches , lagooning, � <br /> dredging of lakes or stream bottom for removal <br /> . of muck, silt or weeds , and filling in the lake <br /> or stream bed. Approval shall be construed to, <br /> mean the issuance by the �ommissioner of a permit � <br /> . , . under the procedures of Minnesota Statutes 1974, <br /> Section 105.42 and other related statutes . <br /> (ii) Excavation on shorelands where the intended <br /> purpose is connection to a public water, such as <br /> boat slips, canals, lagoons, and harbors , shall <br /> be controlled by the municipal shoreland ordinance. <br /> Permission for such excavation may be given only <br /> after the �ommission er has approved the proposed <br /> connection to public waters . Approval shall be <br /> . given only if the proposed work is consistent with <br /> � applicable state regulations for work in beds of <br /> public waters . " . <br /> � . . <br />
