MINNESOTA 55364 <br />,612)-72-tt55 <br />September 13, 1989 <br />Mayor Jim Grabek <br />City of Orono <br />PO Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />Dea-r Mayor Grabek: <br />The Mound Professional and Retail Council of the Westonka Chamber of <br />Commerce requested that the City of Mound contact the cities of Spring Park <br />and Orono to see if they would be willing to consider the purchase of <br />Christmas decorations similar to those in the City of Mound along Shoreline <br />Drive (County Road 15'. The City of Mound has been placing Christmas <br />decorations on its streets for the last 5 to 6 years and believes that it <br />beautifies the community and puts local residents in the Christmas spirit <br />and encourages them to shop in their community for the Christmas season. <br />Last year we had purchased with local businesses additional lighting for <br />the improved County Road 15. Previously, lights had been placed on Counts <br />Road 110 and on County Road 15 up to the post office at Belmont Lane. <br />The City Council at its meeting of September 12th briefly discussed this <br />and directed me to write you a letter suggesting that you consider <br />purchasing decorations. If you are interested in doing so, you may contact <br />me and I will put you in touch with the company that we purchased the <br />decorations from so that we could get a similar pattern going amongst the <br />three cities.
