MINUTES OF THE ORONO COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1989 <br />ZONING FILE #1454-REDDICR CONTINUED <br />for that garage. <br />Mr. Reddick said that it would be incorporated into the new <br />garage and the area would be used for storage. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Nettles, to adopt Resolution #2711, apprcving the <br />side yard setbac:. variance for Lhe construction of an attached <br />garage. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=O, Motion passed. <br />#1456 ROBERT AND JANET FIELD <br />2240 DEVIN LANE <br />AFTER -THE -FACT VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION #2712 <br />Mrs. Emfield was present for this matter, as was Mimi <br />Ryerse, her Realtor. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson provided a brief history of <br />this after -the -fact application for a garage. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Acting Mayor Callahan, to adopt Resolution #2712, approving the <br />after -the -fact stricture -to -structure setback variance for a <br />detached garage. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=O, Motion passed. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />WELL/HIGHWAY 12* <br />It was moved by Councilmember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to award the bid to Key Well as the <br />lowest responsible bidder. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=O, Motion <br />passed. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT: <br />Acting Mayor Callahan conveyed a massage from Mayor Grabek <br />concerning the need for more requests for tickets to the <br />Centennial Ea 1 1. <br />Councilmember Nettles reported that the Lake Minnetonka Use <br />Management Working P�Fer had an Issue #12, adopted 6/19/89, <br />dealing with the dispersal of on -shore attractions to bays that <br />h,-t,e l isser use (boats/acre). The issue is "whether LMCD policy <br />snout avor dispersal of on -shore attactions to lesser used bays <br />or whether such attractions should be concentrated to minimize <br />their effect on other bays. At issue would he bars, restaurants, <br />marinas, yacht clubs or homeowner's associations. In short, any <br />operation requiring multiple dock license." Ne"tles' <br />interpretation cf this is that the LMCD world disperse it from <br />more used bays to less used bays, such as Smith Bay and Tanager <br />Lake. Nettles said that the Public may be interested in knowiiiq <br />that the T:.MC:D is considering such a policy. He suggested that <br />Citv staff find out from the LMCD Representative what the status <br />of the procedure is and where and how the Public can express its <br />opinion. <br />14 <br />
