MINUTES OF THE ORONO COUNCIL FETING OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1:'it9 <br />#1446 JACK YOST <br />1515 GREEN TREES ROAD <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT/VARIANCE <br />RESOLUTION *2707 <br />Mr. Yost was present for this matter, as was Mr. Don Hess, <br />Mr. Yost's representative. <br />City Administrator Bernharc on informed the Council that <br />this application involved a request to install retaining walls <br />and do land alterations within 0-75' of the lakeshore. <br />Bernhardson noted that the structure currently existing was <br />constructed us;_ng a survey that has turned out to be incorrect. <br />The corrected survey places a portion of the addition in the 0- <br />75' setback zone. Bernhardson said that the application being <br />presented this evening pertained only to the retaining walls. <br />Building and Zoning Administrator Mabusth elaborated on the <br />problem with the surveys. <br />Councilmember Goatten said that her only concern was the <br />possible need for a handrail. <br />Mabusth explained that the applicant was proposing to use <br />planter boxes rather than handrails and that the City's building <br />code would allow such a substi ution. <br />Councilmember Nettles questioned whether the old storm <br />cellar/foundation w;.uld be filled in? <br />Mr. Yost said that the structure had been used as a storage <br />facility/pump room for sprinkler system. Mr. Yost said that the <br />room will be filled in as part of this project. <br />It was moved by Ccuncilmember Nettles, seconded by <br />Councilmember Goetten, to adopt Resolution #t2707, approving the <br />Conditional Use Permit/Variance for the construction of retaining <br />walls within 0-75' of the lakeshore. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=O, <br />Motion passed. <br />#1447 LAKEVIEW GOLF COURSE <br />710 NORTH SHORE DRIVE WEST <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />RESOLUTION #2708 <br />Mr. Grant Wenkstern, owner, was present for this matter. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained that the applicant <br />was seeking approval of a conditional use permit to do grading <br />and filling in excess of 100 cubic yard. <br />It was moved by Councilmember Gotten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to adopt Resolution #2708, approving the <br />Conditional Use Permit for Lakeview Golf Course. Motion, Ayes=4, <br />Nays=O, Motion passed. <br />
