MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING JUNE 19, 1989 <br />ZONING FILE #1417-NSP CONTINUED <br />Planning Commissioner Johnson indicated that he had mixed <br />feelings about this application in that the environment was a <br />concern, but the proposed use was low intensity for this area. <br />He asked how the Highway 101 substation compared to this one? <br />Mr. iargraeves explained that the Highway 101 substation was <br />larger. Brown suggested visiting the site to get a <br />better understanding of the level of noise that would be <br />generated. <br />Mr. Fraser asked to be provided with data that would prove <br />that the substation was needed. <br />There were no further comments from the public r-garding <br />this matter and the public hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Acting Chairperson Bellows, seconded by <br />Planning Commissioner Hanson to table this application and aglow <br />the applicant time to work with staff to fully answer and <br />document the concerns expressed by the Planning Commission and <br />the residents. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=0, Motion passed. <br />#1418 ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #278 <br />685 OLD CRYSTAL BAY ROAD NORTH <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT/COMMERCIAL SITE PLAN REVIEW <br />PUBLICE HEARING 10:50 P.M. - 10:52 P.M. <br />Ms. Lucy Tayor, Mr. William Fenho ldt and Mr. Paul Hagen were <br />present as representatives of the School District. <br />The Affidavit of Publication and Certificate of Mailing were <br />duly noted. <br />Building Official Jacobs provided the Planning Commission <br />with a brief synopsis of the School District's proposal to <br />construct an addition connecting the Middle School with the <br />Elementary School. <br />There were no comments from the public regarding this matter <br />and the public hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Planning Commissioner Brown, seconded by <br />Planning Commissioner Hanson, to recommend approval_ of <br />a conditional use permit for school use.
