MINUTES OF THE ORONO COUNCIL MEETING OP JULY 24, 1989

<br />It was moved by Acting Mayor Callahan, seconded by
<br />CounciImember Nettles, to table this matter until the August 14,
<br />1989 Council meeting. Motion, Ayes«2, Goetten, Nay, Motion
<br />passed.
<br />LIQUOR ORDINANCE-RECONSIDERATION
<br />CounciImember Goetten stated that she was opposed to the
<br />sale of intoxicating liquor on the 4th of July.
<br />It was moved by CoanciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounciImember Nettles, to repeal the Ordinance allowing the sale
<br />of liquor on July 4th. Motion, Ayes=l, Nays=2, Motion failed.
<br />FACILITIES MEETING - COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION*
<br />Staff is continuing to find a date that is amenable to
<br />everyone.
<br />SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT-GOLF COURSE*
<br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounciImember Nettles, to employ Donald Yeager and Fred
<br />Abrahamson as temporary employees at the Orono golf coutse
<br />effective July IS, 1989, at a rate of $4.50 per hour. Motion,
<br />Ayes»3, Nays*=0, Motion passed.
<br />COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT-TOM KUEHN*
<br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounclImember Nettles, to adjust Finance Director Tom Kuehn*s
<br />compensation to Step III Level 12 at $22,487 per hour effective
<br />June 14, 1989. Motion, Ayes«3, Nays“0, Motion passed.
<br />COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT-TOM JACOBS*
<br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounciImember Nettles, to increase Toro Jacobs' salary from $15.62
<br />to $16.09 per hour effective July 1, 1989. Motion, Ayes*3,
<br />Nays«0, Motion passed.
<br />COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT-JAMIE BOSMA*
<br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounciImember Nettles, to increase Jamie Bosma's salary from
<br />$7,946 per hour to $8.39 per hour effective July 1, 1989.
<br />Motion, Ayes*3, Nays*0, Motion passed.
<br />COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT-CAROL BANSING*
<br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by
<br />CounclImember Nettles, to increase Carol Hanslng's salary from
<br />$8,907 per hour to $9,418 per hour retroactive to April 12, 1989.
<br />Ayes*3, Nays-O, Motion passed.
