AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: May 27, 2025 <br />Title: Mountain Bike/Multiuse Trail <br />Presenter: Joe Ruthenberg, Superintendent - Parks, Facilities <br />Section: Parks Report <br />Item: 10 <br />Purpose: <br />For council to review a plan from the Parks Commission for a proposed Mountain Bike Trail at <br />Orono Orchards Golf Course, with the stated goal of council approving $15,000 in design fees for <br />the project. <br />2. Background: <br />At the February 4, 2025 Park Commission meeting the commission voted 4-0, to bring a proposal <br />to City Council, to approve $15,000, as budgeted in the CIP, to hire a designer for a mountain bike <br />trail at the Orono Orchards Golf Course. <br />3. Cost: <br />The capital improvement plan allocated $15,000 for this project, with costs to be expended from <br />the Parks Fund. <br />4. Staff Recommendation: <br />Council to review the presentation and authorize staff to solicit design proposals, not to exceed <br />$15,000, for the bike trail design. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to authorize staff to solicit design proposals, not to exceed $15,000, for a proposed bike trail at <br />the Orono Orchards Golf Course. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
