AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: June 9, 2025 <br />Title: Closed Session - Labor Negotiation Discussion <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section: Closed Session <br />Item: 16 <br />Purpose: <br />The meeting will be closed as permitted by section 13D.03 to discuss the City's labor negotiation <br />strategy related to the City's negotiations with LELS Local 168, Police Sergeants, LELS Local <br />No. 40, Patrol Officers, IUOE Local No. 49 AFL-CIO, and OPEIU Local No. 12 AFL-CIO. <br />2. Background: <br />The city has four bargaining units. All of the bargaining units agreements are up for renewal in <br />2026. <br />3. Process: <br />City staff has initiated a first round of negotiations to learn what the respective units are looking <br />for in the renewed agreements. Once council has provided guidance, staff will continue <br />negotiations with the bargaining units. Agreements will be brought back to council for formal <br />approval. <br />4. Staff Recommendation: <br />Hold the Closed Session. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Provide staff guidance on strategy for labor agreement negotiations. <br />327 <br />
