IN GENERAL <br />Sec. 62-1. Definitions. <br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to <br />them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br />Animals means farm animals and all other animals, reptiles and feathered birds or fowl except dogs, <br />domestic cats, gerbils, hamsters and caged household birds. <br />Dangerous animals means any wild mammal, reptile or fowl which is not naturally tame or gentle but is of a <br />wild nature or disposition and which, because of its size, vicious nature or other characteristics, would constitute a <br />danger to human life or property if it is not kept or maintained in a safe manner or in secure quarters. The term <br />"dangerous animal" also means and includes any domestic mammal, reptile or fowl which, because of its size or <br />vicious propensity or other characteristic, would constitute a danger to human life or property if it is not kept or <br />maintained in a safe manner or in secure quarters. The term "dangerous animal" does not include a dangerous dog <br />as defined in Minn. Stat. § 347.50. <br />Farm animals means cattle, horses, mules, sheep, goats, swine, ponies, ducks, geese, turkeys, chickens, <br />guinea hens and honeybees. <br />Owner means any person who owns, harbors, feeds, boards, keeps or otherwise possesses an animal, and <br />who is the head of the household of the residence, or the owner or manager in charge of the establishment or <br />premises at which an animal remains, or to which it returns. <br />(Code 1984, § 9.13(1)) <br />Cross reference(s)—Definitions generally, § 1-2. <br />Sec. 62-2. Interference with officers prohibited. <br />It is unlawful for the owner of any dog to interfere with any police officer or other city employee in the <br />performance of his duty to enforce this chapter. <br />(Ord.
