I can not believe that this is even being given consideration based on the
location of so many family homes and bike and walking paths shared in this community. I
live in the David Weekly Preserve across the street from the proposed development. The high
levels of traffic and the high speeds that are happening currently are bad enough. I can not
imagine what this would bring to our community. Is there not some point at which Orono will
be putting the residents and our tax dollars first???? We moved here and paid a premium to
provide a family friendly neighborhood with access to the walking paths and trails. Put this in
a remote area behind the industrial parts of Long Lake and help us preserve our safe spaces. I
pray that the council, most of whom I voted for based on the campaign promises of bettering
our community do the right thing.
Thanks for your consideration - I hope it is not falling on deaf ears.
