UPON MOTION by Lucie Taylor, seconded by Jim Franklin, the Board of Education <br />engaged Faegre & Benson as consultant to assist the school district in <br />complying with Section 89 of the Federal Tax Reform Act. <br />Wayne Smith provided the Board with an overview of activities in the athletic <br />department. He supplied them with lists of coaches, the number of students par <br />ticipating in the athletic programs, explanation of regions/districts, and <br />information on the system that has been developed for evaluating coaches. Mr. <br />Smith stated that there are opportunities being provided for coaches to upgrade <br />the'!r skills in dealing with athletic injuries and that he will provide the <br />Board with written information as to the participation level of the coaches in <br />these programs. The Board asked questions regarding the degree of training of <br />Orono's coaches in CPR training or first aid and Mr. Smith will survey the <br />coaches and provide the Board with the information. <br />The next meeting will be held on January 23, 1989 at the Orono Primary School. <br />UPON MOTION by Lucie Taylor, seconded by Don Anderson, the meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />Approved:Don A.
