8O4/We <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> No. 7560 <br /> kESHo <br /> A RESOLUTION <br /> APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT#7 <br /> TO ADD A NEW LAND USE CATEGORY <br /> AND <br /> MODIFY THE RATIO OF RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL <br /> WITHIN THE EXISTING MIXED-USE LAND USE CATEGORY <br /> (FILE NO. LA24-000063) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") adopted its the 2020-2040 <br /> Comprehensive Plan(hereinafter the"Plan")on June 10,2019; <br /> WHEREAS, in the implementation of the Plan, the City desires to adjust land use <br /> density within the city to more appropriately serve the City Council's land use goals; <br /> WHEREAS, on October 14, 2024, the City Council approved a sanitary sewer <br /> extension to serve certain properties on Fox Street;and <br /> WHEREAS,as part of the Met Council's permitting for the sewer extension,the City <br /> is required to address the density standards for the sewer improvements through a Comprehensive <br /> Plan Amendment; and <br /> WHEREAS,on February 18,2025,after published and mailed notice in accordance <br /> with Minnesota Statutes and the City Code, the Planning Commission held a public hearing, at <br /> which time all persons desiring to be heard concerning the Comprehensive Plan Amendment were <br /> given the opportunity to speak thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 18, 2025, the Planning Commission recommended <br /> approval of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment as proposed; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 10, 2025, the City Council reviewed the application and <br /> the recommendations of the Planning Commission and City staff; and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of <br /> Orono,Minnesota hereby approves the Comprehensive Plan Amendment based on one or more of <br /> the following findings of fact: <br /> FINDINGS OF FACT: <br /> 1 <br />
