No nails shall be driven through the duct walls and no <br />unnecessary holes shall be cut in them. Sec. 7724-2-b <br />113. Where return air is taken from first floor through a register box <br />placed between studs, the stud space containing such box shall be <br />effectively sealed. Sec. 7724-3 SBC <br />114. Return air ducts passing through an attached private garage shall <br />be sealed against fumes. <br />115. Exposed warm air ducts passing through attached private garages <br />whether heated or not shall be insulated with non-combustible <br />insulation. Sec. 7724-7. Such insulation shall have an R -factor of <br />4.0. <br />116. Underground duct construction and installation shall meet all the <br />requirements of SBC 7726. <br />No underground duct shall be installed where water connections may <br />occur unless means are provided to collect and drain surface and <br />underground water by the installation of drain the around the <br />perimeter of the space served by the underground duct system. Sec. <br />7726-2 SBC <br />This type of duct system requires an on-site inspection by the <br />inspector prior to pouring of the concrete slab. <br />Requires a vapor barrier between fill and the bottom of the slab. <br />This shall be a 4 mil. polyethylene or equal. Separate exhaust systems shall be located with respect to <br />building construction and other equipment so as to perdnit access to <br />the applicant. Sufficient clearance shall be maintained to permit <br />cleaning and servicing of applicant. Sec. 7903-4 <br />119. Separate exhaust systems shall be provided for kitchen and <br />bathroom exhaust. Shall be exhausted to the outside atmosphere. Sec. <br />7729 <br />120. All boiler and furnaces shall be provided with automatic safety <br />devices arranged to prevent excessive water temperatures, or air <br />temperatures by shutting off the fuel supply.
