Exhibit G, confirms that 8 cabled <br />anchors installed within the adjacent bank will provide <br />protection from overturn (shoreline side washed away reducing <br />wall imbediment). It is the engineer's opiniion that "the <br />seawall will structurally withstand the earth's pressures and <br />environmental elements for the expected life of the wall <br />materials themselves". <br />Staff has worked with Mr. Carlson in the past in seeking <br />special approval for construction of the dock within the channel <br />area. All residents within this subdivision whose properties <br />abutt the channel area are reauired to seek special approval from <br />the Council for the issuanc Df building permits for docks. Mr <br />Carlson has been a resident our City for over 6 years. It may <br />be appropriate for members to ask the applicant to respond as to <br />the circumstances surrounding the installation of the dock <br />without the benefit of permit review. <br />Options of Action <br />A. Denial - If d>:nied, please refer to the necessary findings <br />set forth in Section 10.09, Subdivision 6 (A). Please note <br />that the seawall does not require a variance approval as <br />this is an accepted or permitted structure below the 929.4 <br />elevation of the lake. <br />B. Approval - If approved please refer to the same section for <br />the necessary findings.
