The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the work is similar, <br />related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br />Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <br />Knowledge: <br /> Technology —electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, applications <br />and programming. <br /> Administrative —procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and <br />records, transcription, designing forms, and other administration procedures and <br />terminology. <br /> English Language —structure and content, meaning and spelling of words, rules of <br />composition, and grammar. <br /> Customer and Personal Service —principles and processes for providing customer and <br />personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for <br />services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. <br /> Regulations, laws, administrative rulings, and best practices – keep in accordance with, but <br />not limited to, elections, licensing, MN Open Meeting Law, Robert’s Rules of Order, the <br />Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA), and general government operations. <br /> <br />Skills: <br /> Active Listening — Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to <br />understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at <br />inappropriate times. <br /> Active Learning – Demonstration of continued learning, to learn new skills, technology, <br />improve processes. <br /> Problem solving – desire to own and solve problems and address concerns <br /> Reading Comprehension — Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related <br />documents. <br /> Speaking — Talk to others to convey information effectively. <br /> Writing — communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the <br />audience. <br /> Takes initiative, independently manages tasks and time, prioritizes and meets deadlines. <br /> <br />Abilities: <br /> Oral Comprehension — Able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through <br />spoken words and sentences. <br /> Oral Expression — Able to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will <br />understand. <br /> Written Comprehension — Able to read and understand information and ideas presented in <br />writing. <br /> Written Expression — Able to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will <br />understand. <br /> Near Vision — Able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). <br /> <br />Minimum Requirements <br /> High School Diploma or equivalent. <br /> Customer service experience/experience working with the public. <br />30
