County, Minnesota <br /> ' May 12 , 19 8 0 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the <br /> C i ty Counci l of the C i ty of Orono , Hennepin County, <br /> Minnesota, was duly held at the Civic Center, (address) 12 75 Brown Rnad S. <br /> in said City on the 12 day of May , 198Q at 7 • pp p.m. <br /> The fol lowi ng members were present: May�r Van Nest, Councilmembe�rs <br /> Butler, Hurr, and Paurus <br /> and the following were absent: none � - <br /> � Member Hurr introduced and read the following <br /> written resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> � <br /> RESOLUTION :#1146 <br /> WHEREAS, a single city or county rarely has adequate staff or <br /> � other resources to conduct the thorough and prompt investigation <br /> required for the expedient solution of very complicated and time <br /> consuming major crimes; and <br /> WHEREAS, perpetrators of major crimes often flee to, and take <br /> refuge in, cities or counties other than those in which the crimes <br /> have been committed; and <br /> WHEREAS, witnesses and other pieces of evidence of a major <br /> crime are often found in more than one city or county; and <br /> WHEREAS, the commission of a major crime in any city or county <br /> poses a threat to the safety, health and welfare of the residents <br /> of the entire surrounding area; and <br /> WHEREAS, a pooling of investigative resources 1n a combined <br /> . investigative action by neighboring cities and counties can result <br /> in the expedient solution of major crimes; and <br />
