Date: November 12, 2024 Item: 19 <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section: City Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> <br />Title: Council Member Resignation <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />Accept the resignation of Council Member Matt Johnson. <br />2.Background: <br />On November 12, 2024 Councilmember Johnson submitted his resignation. <br /> <br />As CM Johnson has over 1/2 of his term remaining, his resignation will result in the need for a <br />special election in 2025. The council should also appoint someone to fill the seat until the special <br />election. <br />3.Staff Recommendation: <br />Once Council accept the resignation, staff will begin the process of establishing a special election <br />in 2025 and an appointment process to fill the position until the special election.
