General <br />Ql: What will the future Highway 12 look like in terms of <br />number of lanes? <br />Al: Traffic forecasts indicate the need for a four lane <br />facility from the end of the Wayzata bypass to Delano. <br />However, the precise configuration of the roadway is <br />somewhat uncertain at this time. It will depend on what <br />the agencies and communities determine and upon the <br />availability of funding. <br />Q2: Will the Highway be a controlled access road? <br />A2: Yes. Access control will be purchased and access <br />allowed at selected locations. <br />Q3: How much right of way is necessary for this roadway? <br />A3: It will vary depending upon location, a probable range <br />of values is between 200 and 500 feet. <br />Q4: Provide estimates of traffic levels for Highway 12 for <br />the next 20 years. <br />A4: Preliminary year 2010 forecasts indicate an average <br />daily traffic (ADT) volume of 22,500 vehicles in the Maple <br />Plain area, increasing to 30,700 ADT through Orono. <br />Q5: What would the speed limit for the Highway be in the <br />Maple Plain area? Would this be designated as 1-394 or U.S <br />12? If it is an interstate, where would the 65 MPH speed <br />limit begin? <br />A5: The speed limit would be 55 MPH. <br />as U.S. 12. <br />It would be designated <br />Q6: Discuss Baker Park access provisions. <br />A6: Whatever upgrading occurs on T.H. 12, adequate access to <br />Baker Park would be maintained. <br />Q7; Suggestions have been made regarding the construction of <br />a tollway. Please advise how serious these discussions or <br />comments have been. <br />A7: Any discussions of a tollway have been very preliminary <br />and of an informational nature only. <br />If T.H. 12 goes through Maple Plain
