0 <br /> W <br /> Minutes <br /> City Council Regular Meeting <br /> Monday, October 14, 2024, 6:00 PM <br /> City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> kEsH0 <br /> City Planner. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT <br /> None <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br /> City Attorney Mattick said the date of that evening's meeting is designated as Columbus Day or <br /> Indigenous People's Day,but it is a holiday for which local jurisdictions can decided whether or not they <br /> can conduct business, so the City Council meeting that evening is lawful. He mentioned the Council will <br /> be meeting on Nov. 12 rather than Nov. 11,which is a federal holiday on which no business can be <br /> conducted, and he will have a conflict. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR/ENGINEER REPORT <br /> 23. Accept Donation—Resolution 7514 <br /> The City Council is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and approve <br /> the resolution accepting the donation <br /> Veach moved, Crosby seconded, to adopt the resolution accepting the donation of a large American <br /> flag from Councilmember Matt Johnson and his family. VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0,Abstain 1 <br /> (Johnson). <br /> 24. Fox Street Sewer Main Extension(24-044) <br /> The City Council is requested to review the Staff report,receive a presentation, and discuss and approve <br /> the resolution entering into an agreement with residents to construct the sanitary sewer force main <br /> extension. The property owners have indicated a willingness to fund the extension but are asking for a <br /> reimbursement agreement if other properties are eventually served by the extension in the next 15 years. <br /> The Council discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> Crosby moved,Veach seconded,to approve the sewer and water extensions and waive the <br /> connection fees, and to approve the sewer extension agreement Exhibit B. VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 0. <br /> COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> 25. Council Committee Reports <br /> Walsh reported on the Budget Committee. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Janie Delaney, 1315 Woodhill Ave.; Sandy Whisler,2683 North Shore Drive;Kelly Prchal,4705 <br /> Watertown Road; Lyle Shaw, 1750 Shadywood Road; and Kelly Grady,Long Lake;provided comments. <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
