LMCD Bocird oi' 'lirectoiii March 28, 1990 <br />j) Mrnutes Foster moved, Boswinkel seconded, approval <br />of the Lake Use Committee minutes of 3/19/90 as submivt<sd. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />k) Personal Watercraft Rental on the Lake - <br />Magnuson <br />John <br />keeping <br />floating <br />door to <br />prohibit <br />The Board received a proposal from John Magnuson to rent <br />personal watercraft from a pontoon b<?cit on the Lake. The <br />committee recommends acceptance of the corcept subject to staff <br />review and a cliartor boat license. <br />Slocum's opinion is that this proposal i.s out of <br />with what is wanted in managing the Lake. It is a <br />commercial venture. <br />Cochran stated approval of this would open the <br />selling anything on the Lake. <br />L.^Fevere recommended adopting an ordinance to <br />commercial ventures of this type and if the Board decides to do <br />so Magnuson should be notified. He -loted Magnuson would probably <br />need a charter boat license as renters would he boarding the <br />pontoon boat. The proposal does not meet tlie requirements for a <br />Special Event Permit. iJliandier advised that Magnuson is <br />making appUc.utiori for a charter boat license. <br />Boswinkel objects to any solicitation of business in the <br />middle of the Lake. <br />A motion by Fiascop. .sicondeil by Slocum. to <br />ordinance tliat would make the use <jf Lake Minnetonka <br />from any commercial use tliat is not consistent with a <br />withdrawn. <br />A motion by Foster, "seconded by Martinson, to de <br />of the concept for rent , of personal watoro <ft fro. <br />boat was withdrawn. <br />Slocum moved, Martin.son seconded, to <br />Committee to move expeditiously to find <br />solicitation and sale of any kind on the Lak. <br />Reese voting nay. ....... u <br />LeFevere is to attend the Lake Use Committee when <br />discussed. <br />1) Wator Patrol Report . .u <br />Chandler reported two more vehicles have gone through the <br />ice.
