31490 <br />ORDINANCE «, SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.24 ADOPTED APRIL 1, 1984, AND <br />ENTITLED "TOBACCO." <br />The City Council of Orono ordains: <br />Section 5.24, Tobacco is hereby amended by adding the <br />following language. <br />Subdivision 4. Tobacco Products: <br />A. Prohibited sales from vending machines. No person <br />shall sell or dispense any cigarettes or tobacco product, <br />ciagarette paper or cigarette wrapper throught the use of a <br />vending machine. <br />Subdivison 5. Purchase or attempted purchase of tobacco <br />products by minors prohibited. <br />A. It shall be unlawful for any person who has not <br />attained the age of 18 years of age to purchase or attempt to <br />purchase any tobacco product. A person under the age of 18 years <br />of age who is alleged to have violated this section shall be <br />subject to the jurisdiction of the Junvenile Court under <br />Minnesota Statute Section 260.111. In addition to the <br />dispositions otherwise provided by law, a violation of this <br />section shall subject the mi to a fine of $100.00 for a first <br />violation or $200.00 for any equent violation. <br />This ordinance shall oecome effective the first day <br />May, 1990. <br />Adopted by the Council at a regular meeting held March <br />26, 1990, by a vote of ____ ayes, ____ nays. <br />ATTEST: <br />James R.
