WBBRBAS, the detachment of said property would have <br />adverse environmental implications for the area; and <br />WHBRBAS, governmental services now available to said <br />property will not be more effectively or economically provided if <br />detachment is allowed; and <br />WHBIUBAS, the detachment of said property will create a <br />precedent for future piecemeal detachments and annexations of <br />property currently in the City of Orono. <br />HOV, TBBRBFORB, BB IT RBSOLVBD, that the City Council <br />for the City of Orono is opposed to the granting of said <br />Petition; and <br />FURTHBR, that the City Council for the City of Orono is <br />opposed to the granting of said Petition because it is not in the <br />best interests of the citizens of the City of Orono that said <br />Petition be granted; and <br />FURTBBR* that the staff of the City of Orono is directed <br />to gather such evidence as is necessary to oppose such Petition <br />in preparation for the City of Orono*s appearance before the <br />Minnesota Municipal Board presently scheduled for 9:30 a.m., <br />April 25, 1990, at the Orono Council Chambers. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this <br />26th day of March, 1990. <br />James R.
