Date: October 14, 2024 Item: 11 <br />Presenter: DJ Goman, Public Works Superintendent <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Replace Vehicle - Sewer Cleaning Truck <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />To replace unit 712 a 2001 Vactor combo sewer and pipe cleaning truck with over 140,000 miles, <br />with a 2025 Eco combo sewer and pipe cleaning truck, including hydro excavating capabilities <br />2.Background: <br />712 is a Sanitary Sewer and Stormwater cleaning truck that is used in all departments, primarily in <br />Sewer and Stormwater department. The truck has over over 140,000 miles and used to support <br />Public Works operations This truck cleans sewage lift stations and pipes, vacuums up debris <br />around underground utilities during water and sewer breaks, and cleans storm sewer sump catch <br />basins to reduce debris entering our lakes and ponds. <br />3.Options: <br />Continue daily use and delay replacement and have higher operating and maintenance costs. <br /> <br />The city received quotes, listed below, for a new combo cleaning truck including allowance for <br />trade in of existing equipment from Flexible Pipe Tools & Equipment and McQueen Equipment. <br />Both are state contractor.
