r <br />A RBSOLOnON GRANTIHG <br />VARIAMCBS TO <br />MOHICIFAL SOHIIK3 CODS <br />SBCTIOH 10.22, SUBDIVISIONS 1 & 2 AND <br />SBCnOH 10.55, SUBDIVISION 8 <br />PILB *1452 <br />NHKRBAS, Marilyn & Walter Pemberton (hereinafter "the <br />applicants”) are owners of the property located at 1720 Shadywood <br />Road within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally <br />described as follows: <br />Lots 12 & 13, except that part of s*'*d Lot 12 lying <br />northerly of a line drawn parallel with and distant 71.2' <br />northerly measured at right angles from the southerly line <br />of said Lot 13, Shadywood, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br />(hereinafter "the property"); and <br />NHBRBAS, the applicants have applied to the City for <br />variances to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivisions 1 <br />& 2 and Section 10.55, Subdivision 8 to permit the construction <br />of a room addition to the existing residence, which addition is <br />entirely located within the 0-75* lakeshore setbacJc zone where no <br />s\:ructure or hardcover is normally allowed. <br />NON, THBRBPORB, BB IT RBSOLVBD by the City Council of <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning Pile #1452. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-IC Single Family <br />Lakeshore Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on September 18, 1989, and recommended conditional approval <br />of the proposed variances based upon the following findings: <br />A) Existing hardcover in the 0-75* zone is 26.78%. <br />Existing hardcover in the 75-250' zone is 58.04%. <br />These hardcover eunounts are unusually excessive for the <br />LR-IC district and any proposed structural additions on <br />the property should be subject to a concurrent <br />reduction in overall hardcover on the property. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />I f <br />j ■
