RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 6545 <br />Commission held a public hearing on the proposed lot line rearrangement on July 20, 2015 at <br />which time all persons desiring to be heard concerning this application were given the <br />opportunity to speak thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, the Orono City Council reviewed the proposed lot line <br />rearrangement at a regular meeting held on August 10, 2015 and directed City staff to prepare a <br />resolution for approval of the proposed lot line rearrangement; and <br />WHEREAS, the Orono City Council makes the following findings with regards <br />to the proposed lot line rearrangement: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #15-3758. <br />2. The Often Parcel is zoned RR -1B One -Family Rural Residential District which requires <br />2.0 acres in area for a residential building site. <br />3. The Otten Parcel contains approximately 2.43 acres in total area and currently contains a <br />single family residence structure. <br />4. The portion of the Otten Parcel to be transferred to the City (hereinafter the "Transferring <br />Parcel") is approximately 0.81 acre in area, leaving the remaining portion of the Otten <br />Parcel (hereinafter the "Remaining Otten Parcel") approximately 1.62 acres in area. <br />5. In order for the Remaining Otten Parcel to maintain a conforming lot area, the City <br />Council has agreed to rezone the entire Otten Parcel to R-lA One -Family Residential <br />District which requires 1.0 acres in area for a residential building site. <br />6. The City Council has agreed to provide the Remaining Otten Parcel with a connection to <br />municipal sewer, and has agreed to grant a temporary easement over the Transferred <br />Parcel for continued use of the existing septic system serving the residence at 2251 Pine <br />Ridge Lane. <br />7. The City Council has agreed to provide the remaining Otten Parcel with an easement for <br />driveway purposes over the Transferred Parcel to allow for continued access to Pine <br />Ridge Lane <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
