Wade» Amtrol/ <br />Josarn* Zurn or approved equal manufacturer. <br />2.02 VACUUM BREAKERS <br />A. Vacuum breakers shall be used for hose connections. Accept <br />able manufacturers are Febco, Chicago, Crispin and Watts. <br />B. Use continuous pressure type of vacuum breakers for inline <br />pipe on low flow system. <br />2.03 BACKFLOW PREVENTER <br />A. Backflow preventers equal to Watts #900 complete with strainer <br />test cocks and gate valves for pressurized systems. Accept­ <br />able manufacturers are Febco and Lawler. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 SHOCK ABSORBERS <br />A.Shock absorbers shall be placed at fast closing valves such <br />as solenoid valves, etc., to eliminate all hydraulic shocks. <br />Shock absorbers shall be properly sized and installed in <br />accordance with the Plumbing and Drainage Institute "Standards <br />P.D.I. WH201". <br />3.02 VACUUM BREAKERS <br />A.Vacuum breakers shall be installed at each point where hose <br />threaded connections are provided. <br />3.03 BACKFLOW PREVENTERS <br />A.Backflow preventers shall be installed on potable water <br />system that provides makeup water to HVAC system coils, <br />humidifiers, etc. <br />3.04 FLOW METERS <br />A.Provide flow meters as indicated on the drawings. The flow <br />meter, shall be suitable for 240°F temperature and 150 psi <br />pressure. Must be designed for easy cleaning and maintenance. <br />Product shall be from a standard manufacturer. <br />3.05 Provide circulating pumps CP-I and CP-2 as shown on plans <br />Pumps shall be Bell and Gossett or approved equal. <br />3.06 CLEANING <br />A.Prior to final inspection, clean off all labels and remove <br />any construction dirt, paint and plaster. <br />END OF SECTION <br />15410-2 <br />i
