Significant issues include: <br />Recreation Management - The concept of limitations being <br />imposed on various users ac a function of density may <br />not be a method which is fully understood at this point. <br />Also is the issue of marina growth. <br />Public Safety - The level of investment ol: local police <br />forces in upgrading public safety on the lake plus the <br />need to address fire and EMS. <br />Shoreline Protection - The standards and criteria should <br />not be significantly different than Orono's present <br />ordinance and Orono can remain more restrictive. (The <br />question for Orono is if adopting LMCD rules for <br />shoreland protection will satisy DNR for Orono's <br />shoreland protection on its other lakes.) <br />The involvement of LMCD in on shore functions will be a <br />new dimension. <br />Environmental Protection - No significant issues are <br />apparent from this draft. <br />Management Structure - In addition to the composition of <br />the governing board is the source and amount of dollars <br />needed to implement the comprehensive plan. <br />If you have questions please feel free to call JoEllen prior to <br />the meting. <br />Issue #2 Process for Hearing - As noted in Attachment C the staff <br />has requested 7 copies of the next draft which will be 1 document <br />incporporating all the areas as noted in Attachment B.
