It would probably not be appropriate at this time to undertake any attendant rezonings until there was an interest in redevelopment of the property by the private owner.In October the Council did authorize an extension of the contract as noted on Attachment C Dahlgren, Shardlow and Uban has been asked to estimate the cost of completing the master planning process. This will be presented to Council at its next meeting. (The staff is also reviewing the need for an update to its comprehensive plan in light of the recent Metro Council requirements. It is not anticipated at this time that the staff will not be having much need for outside help.)Issue #3. If the City has gone forward on II and #2 does it desire to undertake any active steps to assist in making the changes happen. <br />a. Market to private businesses <br />b. Assemble land <br />c. Undertake public financing <br />There did not seem to be any interest in having <br />governmental participation active in implementing any of <br />the desired changes. <br />Perhaps the only level of participation in improvement <br />is the beautification plan and perhaps local assistance <br />for that. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Indicate level of interest in undertaking master planning. <br />2. Establishment of further consideration at the February 26, <br />1990 Council meeting. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />4.
