A RBSOLOTION GRAHTIHG <br />A VARIAMCB TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.24, SUBDIVISION 5 (B) <br />PILE #1479 <br />WHEREAS, Douglas Williams (hereinafter "the applicant”) <br />has an Interest in the property located at 1020 Tonkawa Road <br />within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally <br />described as follows: <br />Tract B, Registered Land Survey #617, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a <br />variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.24, Subdivision 5 <br />(B) to permit the construction of a new single family residence <br />on the property which is 100' in width where a 140' lot width is <br />normally required. <br />HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />Oroiio, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1479 <br />2. The property is located in the LR-IB Single Family <br />Lakeshoz * Residential Zoning District requiring 140' in lot <br />width foT- construction of a new residence. The property is <br />100' in width. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on January 16, 1990, and recommended approval of the <br />proposed variance based upon the following findings: <br />A) The majority of the adjacent and nearby lots are <br />similarly 100' in width. <br />B) The lot already contains a single family residence <br />which will be removed and replaced with the proposed <br />new residence located further back from the lakeshore, <br />meeting all other Orono Zoning Code requirements. <br />C) A lot width variance was granted for this lot in <br />1976 in order to allow construction of the currently <br />existing residence. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />•■I <br />i <br />j
