She distributed the 1990 census information on mem <br />ber cities to the commissioners. Watts noted that Olds and <br />Brancel would emcee the Volunteer Recognition Awards Program, to <br />be cablecast live from the Excelsior studio. As part of the <br />access development activities. Watts stated that October had <br />been designated Community TV month by Governor Carlson, and sh» <br />had placed an ad in the Sailor promoting the Commission and the <br />studio. She stated the new LMCCC brochure and logo would soon be <br />ready. <br />Vfatts distributed copies of a letter from Triax's legal coun <br />sel regarding the dropping of the service call charge. <br />Watts stated that there was a complaint pending from a sub <br />scriber in the Victoria area who had experienced intermittent <br />’''..tages. Nazarow stated Triax would continue to monitor the <br />situation. <br />Watts informed the Commission that recent court decisions <br />would now allow RBOCs to provide video services. <br />A copy of "How to be a Board Member" would be available in <br />the Commission office. She concluded by stating that Channel b <br />would be holding a fundraiser in November, and that copies of <br />Wilczek's letter from Senator Wellstone regarding his position <br />on S 12 were available. <br />Triax Report <br />Nazarow distributed the monthly and studio reports. <br />Homes Passed 11,916 <br />Basic Subs <br />Expanded Basic Subs 6 <br />Total Pay Units 3 <br />Total A/Os 3 <br />103 <br />010 <br />650 <br />096 <br />Total Remotes 2,307 <br />Nazarow delivered the subscriber surveys (962) as well as a <br />report summarizing the results, stating they had followed up on <br />all responses.* Watts thanked Nazarow and suggested that in fu <br />ture surveys# Triax consider using a professional data research <br />firm to interpret the responses and give the survey greater <br />credibility. <br />Nazarow stated he would be making a decision within ten days <br />regarding the equipment survey. He also stated that commercial <br />ad insertions were running on ESPN, USA and TNT, but not yet on <br />CNH. Pattrin asked if the access studio could have access to <br />local ad insertions, Nazarow replied he would check. <br />Copies available by calling Triax or the LMCCC office
