'!-r^ <br />f <br />A RBSOLOTION GRANTING <br />VARIANCBS TO MIINICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.22t SUBDIVISIONS 1 AND 2, <br />AND SECTION 10.55, SUBDIVISION 8 <br />FILE #1692 <br />WHEREAS, Bruce W. Engelsma (hereinafter "the <br />applicant") is owner of the property located at 990 Partenwood <br />Road within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally <br />described as follows: <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Partenwood Second Addition, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for <br />variances to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivisions 1 <br />and 2 and Section 10.55, Subdivision 8 to permit the construction <br />of a room addition to the existing residence, such addition <br />constituting hardcover and structure within the 0-*75' lakeshore <br />setback zone where no hardcover or structure is normally allowed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1692. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-IB, Single Family <br />Lakeshore Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on October 21, 1991, and recommended approval of the <br />proposed variances based upon the following findings: <br />A.Hardcover in the 0-75' zone is proposed to <br />increase 136 s.f. from 9.9% up to 10.6%. In <br />conjunction with this increase, applicant proposes <br />to decrease hardcover in the 75-250* zone 493 <br />s.f., from 26.3% down to 25.0%. The net result is <br />a decrease in overall hardcover in the property of <br />357 s.f., which is a positive aspect of this <br />request. <br />Page 1 of 6
