CITY OF WAYZATA
la .ti- -K)Riel srR^;^r. \e^vzArA. misn 55341
PHONE 4-}.o:34
oct 1931
October 3, 1991
Mr. Gene Strominen, Executive Director
Lake Minnetonka Conservation District
900 E. Wayzata Boulevard
Wayzata, MN 55391
Dear Gene:
The City received the final draft of the LMCD Lake Management
Plan for Lake Minnetonka on September 30th and copies were
distributed to Council Members at the October 1st Council
meeting. However, due to a busy agenda and lack of time to
review the document, no action was taken.
An October 11th deadline was suggested for the cities to
comment on the draft Management Plan so that the Board could
hold a special meeting on October 16th. Unfortunately, the
Council will not be able to meet prior to this deadline.
Because of the great deal of time spent this last year on the
Management Plan, the Wayzata Council feels very strongly that
the Board should not consider the plan on the 16th, but
should delay consideration to the regular Board meeting of
October 23rd. This should alJow time for all cities to
respond in a responsible manner and possibly avoid a repeat
occurrence of past miscommunications.
In addition, the Council feels strongly that the newly
appointed LMCD Board Members should be able to vote on the
Plan with direction frem their respective City Counci?s.
Sincere
Rob«(^t
Mayor
cc:LMCD Member Cities
Mary Anderson, Metropolitan Council
Dirk DeVries, Metropolitan Council
Jim Uttley, Metropolitan Council
