Staff wll’ be buo’er than <br />ever. <br />Boar man noted tiiat there Is only 500 c.f. of future <br />expansion planned which is approximately J40.000, and if added <br />In the future it would be alot more than that price. <br />Farnham commended the Council on working hard and felt tney <br />have tried to cut the project. He noted that he will probably be <br />at the meeting on Tuesday. In the pact he had contacted City <br />Hall and no one there could tall him where it was to be held and <br />he felt that he was getting the run-around. <br />L. Petarson asked how long those meetings run. <br />Goetten announced anywhere from 1-2 hours. <br />Carol Albrecht, West Arm, asked how many households there <br />are in Orono. <br />Gerhardson confirmed there are about 2700. <br />Laurie Pete-son asked how one would go about getting on a <br />committee. <br />Mayor Peterson explained that the Citizen’s Committee was <br />selected by random of people the Council had contacted with <br />varying backgrounds. <br />Goetten also noted that all openings are also pub’ished in <br />Che newspaper. <br />A1 Peterson asked if the City has considered a newsletter. <br />Goetten explained in the past the Council was concerned with <br />the cost factor, but there currently are too many Issues and t.he <br />Council is now working on a newslatter. <br />Gerhardson invited anyone to come to City Hall to <br />plans which are available to the public. <br />the <br />Mayor Peterson Introduced Ron Moorso. He will become the <br />City Administrator effective September 9, 1991. <br />Farnharm asked if the 1.75% increase is to the total tax <br />bill or Just the City's portion. <br />Goetten explained that the numbers published are the worst <br />possible scenario. <br />Drude noted that the State has a now system replacing the <br />■111 rate with net tax capacity rate of which a 1.75% increase <br />would be on your taxes for the facilities.
