Mound; Robert Rascop, Shorev ^od; Marvin <br />BJorXin. Tonka Bay, Robert Slocum, Woodland. Also present: <br />Rachel Thibault, Administrative Technician; Eugene Strommen, <br />Executive Director. <br />The meeting was called to order by Grathwol at 7:35 a.m. <br />ENVIRONMENT <br />Eurasian Eater Milfoil Task Force, Chair Reese <br />1. Operations Progress and Current Status <br />The milfoil cutting program continues to be on hold. The <br />Board motion to provide selected cutting upon request of a city <br />has not generated a response from the cities. There has been <br />reconsideration given to the request that a city supply a truck <br />and crew to off-load and haul the milfoil. In response to <br />requests for cutting in West Arm and in Gray’s Bay, the 2 bays <br />if^]^ checked for milfoil growth. The milfoil area in West Arm is <br />a section inside point buoys that does not get used by the <br />general public. Any cutting in Gray's Bay would have to be <br />"to fr88Bi8nt sccujiiulft'tions at th© dam. R08S8 askou <br />members to be alert to the needs of their respective cities. <br />LMCD milfoil crew members removed milfoil fragments <br />Spring Park, North Arm, and Mound accesses on MN DNR’s Milfoil <br />Awareness Day, Sunday, July 28. Reese visited the accesses. His <br />conversations with DNR conservation officers indicated that many <br />boats had milfoil on them even after the boat owners checked for <br />weeds. The statistics from that day will be available at the <br />Task Force meeting of 8/16/91. <br />2. Financial Condition and Funding Status <br />Reese reported the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners <br />have approved a matching grant program allocating *145,000 for <br />LMCO has the funds for the match. The executive director has made <br />application fc orae $70,000 of the f .-ding. ^ ^ -u <br />Reese r ed expenditures of about $90,000 to date.
