Minutes <br />City Council Regular Meeting <br />Monday, June 24, 2024, 6:00 PM <br />City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Mayor Walsh called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Orono City Council members present: Mayor Dennis Walsh, City Council Members Matt Johnson, <br />Richard Crosby III, and Maria Veach.Members absent: Alisa Benson <br />Staff present were City Attorney Soren Mattick, City Administrator/Engineer Adam Edwards, Finance <br />Director Maggie Jin,and Fire Chief James Van Eyll. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />CEREMONY <br />1.Orono Firefighter Swearing in Ceremony <br />City Administrator Edwards reported the Orono Fire Department has hired 22 firefighters over the past <br />year. The firefighters have completed all the necessary training to be a firefighter or are currently <br />enrolled. <br />Mayor Walsh administered the Oath of Office and each firefighter received their badge as well as flowers <br />from the Orono Garden Club. Taking the Oath of Office as charter members of the Orono Fire <br />Department were James Van Eyll, Shea Chwialkowski, Tom Flermoen, JB Seals, Jeff Krahl, Ryan <br />Kanive, Mike Johnsrud, Justin Hinker, Ben Carlson, Kayla Kennedy, Pat Cotton, Jake Martin, Taylor <br />Andres, John Jackson, Chris Adams, Tom Brown and Matt Hoover.
