Date: July 8, 2024 Item: 7 <br />Presenter: DJ Goman, Public Works Superintendent <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Compensation Increase for Public Works Utility Worker <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />To gain City Council approval for step increase for public works utility maintenance worker James <br />Nelson <br />2.Background: <br />Public Works employee James Nelson started with the city in October 2022 as a public works <br />maintenance worker. Since then his performance has been exceptional. James moved to utility <br />maintenance in July of 2023 and recently obtained his water and sewer licensing which are <br />requirements as a Utility Worker. James has strived to improve and expand the department and <br />the water and sewer assets he is responsible for overseeing and has shown interest in improving <br />the overall. James has quickly become a subject matter expert on water plant operation and <br />maintenance.
