Date: July 8, 2024 Item: 5 <br />Presenter: Josh Lemons, Parks & Golf Superintendent <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Mower Purchase <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this item is to gain authorization to purchase a zero turn mower for Big Island <br />2.Background: <br />Weekly maintenance occurs on Big Island and mowing the trails and open spaces is a large part of <br />the maintenance. The parks department currently has a zero-turn mower stored at the park. After <br />an inspection by the Fleet Supervisor, it was determined that the mower would not last through the <br />rest of the mowing season. The mower has deteriorated rapidly since that inspection and is to the <br />point of being unusable. The repairs required to keep the mower going were deemed too costly <br />based on the age and condition of the mower. The Fleet Supervisor sought several quotes for <br />suitable replacements. All mowers were quoted with the addition of the Tractus Tire (no flats) to <br />cut down on tire repairs when stored on the island. <br />3.Cost: <br />Vendor Product Cost <br />MTI Distributing Toro 5000 Series Zero-turn $14,193.39 <br />A1 Power Equipment Exmark FX Zero-turn $15,036.25 <br />A1 Power Equipment Exmark 37HP Zero-turn $16,796.25 <br />4.Funding: <br />Funding for the zero-turn mower will come from the Equipment Outlay fund. <br />5.Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends purchasing the Toro 5000 series zero-turn mower from MTI Distributing.
