<br />H:\ORNO\$2025 New Projects\Fee Estimate - 2025 Street Improvements.docx <br /> <br />June 19, 2024 <br /> <br />City of Orono <br />Attn: Adam Edwards <br />PO Box 66 <br />Orono, MN 55323 <br /> <br />RE: 2025 Street Improvements – Design and Bidding Services <br /> <br />Dear Adam: <br />As requested, we have prepared a scope of services and design fee estimate for the proposed 2025 Street Improvements Project. <br />It is our understanding that the scope of the project will consist of the following: <br /> <br />Kelly Ave – Full reconstruction with watermain replacement <br /> Lydiard Ave – Mill and Overlay <br /> Lydiard Circle – Mill and Overlay, Add storm sewer <br /> Carmen Road – Mill and Overlay, Add concrete curb <br /> Ferndale Road West – Reclaim, replace culvert <br /> Dahl Road – Reclaim, Add concrete curb <br /> Wildhurst Trail – Mill and Overlay <br /> <br />Proposed Scope of Engineering Services <br />To assist the city with this improvement project, Bolton & Menk proposes the following scope of services: <br /> <br />Staff Design Meetings – Our team will work with City staff to develop the scope of the project and to get input on design details. <br />The goal of these meetings is to ensure that the project is designed consistent with City standards and that the City’s <br />maintenance practices and operations are considered throughout the design process <br /> <br />Detailed Design and Bidding – Bolton & Menk will obtain the required survey data, prepare detailed plans and specifications for <br />the project. This work will include coordination with private property owners as needed. Upon authorization, the project wi ll be <br />advertised for competitive bids. Bolton & Menk will administer the bidding process and will ultimately make recommendations <br />to the City Council about awarding the project. <br /> <br />Fee Estimate <br />Based on the scope of services described above, we propose a not -to-exceed fee of $281,000 to be billed on an hourly basis. If <br />necessary, we will provide you with quotes for soil borings by a sub-consultant.
