Judd, an authorized <br />representative of Big Island, Inc., filed a petition with the City of <br />Orono requesting the vacation of an unimproved alley at a 20* width, <br />legally described as follows: <br />A 20* platted alley dedicated within the plat of the <br />rearrangement of Lot 1, Kitchel*s Subdivision of Government Lots <br />5 and 6 (Section 22, Township 117, Range 23), Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota; and <br />NHEREAS, after due published and posted notice, a public <br />hearing was held before the Planning Commission on July 15, 1991 <br />regarding said vacation and all interested persons were given an <br />opportunity to be heard; and <br />NHEREAS, after due standing and consideration, the Planning <br />Commission voted to recommend approval of the requested vacation and <br />the Council of the City Orono finds that said vacation, as proposed, <br />is in Iceeping with the public interest in consideration of the <br />following findings: <br />1.Existing 20* width of right-of-way would not meet current <br />standards for development of a public road. <br />2.Based on the pattern of development in current ownership, <br />there is no use of right-of-way for access purposes. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />J
