Gerhardson, Acting City Administrator <br />August 7, 1991 <br />87 9^^2 <br />Planning Assistance - Orono Treatment Plant <br />Property Ko <br />Recently the Park Commission was directed to review City <br />properties that may possibly be sold as a result of the City <br />facility being relocated to Old Crystal Bay Road, north of <br />Highway 12, One of the properties under review is the old Orono <br />sewage treatment plant on Old Crystal Bay Road adjacent to French <br />Lake, The Park Commission feels that all or parts of the parcel <br />should be kept for wildlife preservat-.on or a very passive- <br />recreational use. <br />In order to determine a reasonable amount to retain, the <br />Park Commission feels that they need the assistance of a <br />professional planner. On August 6, 1991, John Shardlow from <br />Dahlgren Shardlow & Uban, who has assisted the City on several <br />occasions^ appeared before th Park Commission and advised the <br />Park Comnlsslor, on how he could assist them and the cost for that <br />service (see attached letter). <br />Mr. Alex Vongries, Vice Chair of the Park Commission, will <br />be in attendance on August 12th to discuss this matter. <br />JRG/tln
