t.> ‘ <br />h <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD JULY 22, 1991 <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT-OTHER CONTINUED <br />City of Bloomington. <br />Council briefly discussed the contents of a letc^: that had <br />been received from the City of Long Lake. <br />Jabbour expressed his dis.jppointment regarding the ongoing <br />stress in the relationship between the cities of Orono and Lone: <br />Lake. <br />Council agreed with Jabbour, stating that it is difficult to <br />respond to the many issues raised in recent letters received from <br />the City of Long Lake. <br />(#13)ROLE OF ACTING ADMINISTRATOR <br />Jabbour stated that he wished to have Mary Butler'e <br />participation on this item, and suggested tabling it until <br />Council's meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 19S1. <br />It was moved by Jabbour, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />table this matter until the Council meeting scheduled for July <br />23, 1991. All voted aye. Motion passed. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br /><il4)CITY FACILITIES <br />Bernhardson reported that the earnest money check for the <br />land is in the process of being prepared and mailed. He <br />presented Council with the draft brochure that will be sent to <br />the residents of Orono to inform them about the progression of <br />the City facilities project. <br />Mayor Peterson asked Bernhardson, v/ho, in addition to Jack <br />Boarman, is working on the infonr.'tion brochure. <br />Bernhardson stated that Michael Gaffron will be working on <br />the brochure. <br />Goetten indicated that she would like to have Counciimember <br />Butler's input on the brochure preparation. <br />Jabbour st«>ted that he wants the brochure to provide as much <br />detail about the various financial aspects of the facility as <br />possible. He said, "I want people to know exactly how much money <br />we intend to spend on the building, as well as v/hat will be spent <br />on furniture, landscaping, etc.” <br />Council agreed to postpone the scheduling of the public <br />information meeting and Public Hearing until their August 12th <br />meeting. <br />John Farnham, 3225 Carman Road, commended Council for their <br />- 10 -
