Bernhardson» City AdininistratcfJ' <br />I <br />July 12, 1991 <br />Public Hearing - Housing Redevelopment Authority <br />ATTACHMENTS - <br />X) Resolution Proposing a Public Hearing for a HRD Dated <br />6/24/91 <br />B) Draft Resolution Regarding the Establishment of a HRA <br />ISSUE <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />Hold a scheduled public hearing at 7:00 p.m. <br />Determine if Council desires to establish a HRA. <br />If established, determination as to who they desire to <br />appoint as HRA members. <br />INTRODUCTION - <br />At the Council's June 24, 1991 meeting, they adopted <br />Attachment A as a resolution proposing a public hearing to <br />determine if there is any desire to establish a Housing <br />Redevelopment Authority. Attachment A was published in the <br />Pioneer July 5, 1991 edition and met the necessary publication <br />re<)uirements for at least 10 days and no more than 30 days prior <br />to the public hearing. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />Establishment of a HRA allows a City to undertake activities <br />that would not be otherwise able to undertake. <br />If established, there is no requirement that the Housing <br />Redevelopment Authority undertake any projects if it chooses not <br />to. If the Council itself becomes the entire membership of the <br />Housing Redevelopment Authority Board of Commissioners, then the <br />Council is in full control of the Housing Redevelopment <br />Authority's activities. <br />%■ -is • , » « t
