All this digging is going to <br />disturb them." She asked Mr. Rood what he intends to ao with the <br />rushes and stated that is where the ducks and geese hide. <br />Mr. Rood stated that most of the rushes woula remain just as <br />thsy are. <br />Mrs. Moss stated t.hat Mr. Rood had already removed quite a <br />hit of the rushes and was concerned about placing the spoils on a <br />'' _ , . .- - - 1 it IS andgrassy area* She preferred to have the wewlan^-ert as <br />stated that several of her neighbors share her views. <br />Kelley asked if there were any other comments from the <br />public. There were none, and Kelley closed the Public Hearing at <br />8:25 p.m.He stated that it is difficult to consider how the <br />alterations will look in the summer.He questioned wnetner it <br />may appropriate to table this matter until sum’"'* <br />Rowlette stated that she did not favor altering t.he wetland <br />to this degree. She said, "If it is necessary to clean up t.he <br />area, that is one thing. I do not agree with excavating, filling <br />and changing the nature of the wetland." <br />Moos stated that she had no objections to Mr. Rood's pond <br />proposal. <br />Bellows concurred with Moos.She said, I^^ do no. see any <br />pj^oblem with altering the wetland in this manner. <br />Kelley asked the Planning Commissioners to their <br />opinions about depositing the spoils on-site. He said, "I have <br />no idea how everything will look when the project is completed. <br />Rowlette said, "I nm concern?d that it will be very <br />antiseptic looking." <br />Bellows suggested, given the delicate nature or this .^and, <br />that Mr. Rood submit a landscape plan showing plantings, etc. <br />She said, "That may provide us with a means of assuring the <br />neighbors that the wetland will be left as natural as possible, <br />while accommodating a reasonable request from tne homeowner. <br />-8 - <br />S ° r <br />'tj
